How To Get Rid of Mucus

Mucus only presents itself as a problem when you notice it. In the form of boogers, snot, phlegm and multi-colored goo coming out of your body. But, it is there for a reason and you don’t really want to get rid of it, at least not all of it. Mucus protects your moist skin and tissue from damaging contaminates like dust, pollen, bacteria and viruses. It traps these items in its stickiness and expels it from your system. Unfortunately it doesn’t catch everything and sometimes you get infections. Now your body goes into overdrive producing more mucus than before trying to flush the infection out. Most of the time this system works and you get better. Occasionally it’s not enough, and you need help. In this article I recently completed I go into detail as to the most popular/successful things you can do. I hope you enjoy reading How to get rid of mucus. Let me know what you think.

How to Get Rid of Sores

When I think of sores I think of bloody, oozing, pustular skin anomalies don’t you? Sores is one of those words that can conjure up some disturbing mental imagery. When we get them, we usually want them to go away as quickly as possible. Luckily, when a sore erupts our immune system immediately begins to repair the affected region. In most cases, given the proper amount of time and energy, our bodies can take care of a sore in about two weeks.  Your body has ingrained mechanisms to deal with most of the dangers you are faced with in life including your boo boos and owies. If your immune system needs help there are loads of options out there. You can go natural using ascorbyl palmitate, tea tree oil or apricot oil. You can also use pharmaceuticals to get the job done. If none of these things are enough. See a doctor. You may have an underlying medical condition that need addressing. Writing How to Get Rid of Sores has been a very enlightening experience for me. How to Get Rid of Viruses

Virus is a Latin word used by doctors that means “your guess is as good as mine.” At least they ruled out bacteria, which is kind off easy to get rid of compared to viruses.  Unfortunatley viruses are not at all related to bacteria. Unlike bacteria, which replicates on its own while listening to smooth jazz, viruses require a host cell and a bottle of wine to get the job done. While researching for this article I discovered that viruses are destructive little bastards that have killed billions of humans. And that even though we have gotten rid of some of the worst viruses i.e small pox and the Spanish flu. There are some viruses that mutate so quickly we are probably not going to get rid of them for a while.  In the end our immune system is our best defense against viruses. So, do things that help your immune system. Reduce stress in your life. Take a break once in a while, and don’t take on so many projects at once. This article gave me a new perspective on Getting Rid of Viruses. Read it and let me know what you think.

How to Get Rid of Junk

We all have pack rats in our family’s. Mine is my grandpa, he has been living in the same two bedroom apartment for 20+ years. And for the last several years he has been sleeping on the couch. Not because it is more comfortable, but because the bedrooms are full of junk. He collects everything: books, boxes, cookie tins, cottage cheese containers, magazines, newspapers and the list goes on. One of the jewels of the junk pile is a VHS tape collection that includes around 20 years of recorded TV. Almost entirely composed of educational documentaries and notable-classic movies. And my Grandpa could tell you everything about them just like reading a book. My grandpa is like a sponge; he retains everything he has ever heard just like he keeps everything he touches. He was the inspiration for this article. So please read How To Get Rid of Junk and let me know what you think.

How to Get Rid of Junk Mail

A few months ago, after being inundated with credit and loan offers, I decided it was time for me to learn how to get rid of junk mail. Unlike unsolicited emails - or spam - junk mail comes with the onus of disposal, and I have enough trouble recycling the rubbish I intentionally bring into my home. Through my quest to liberate my mailbox, I learned that this hassle was relatively innocuous compared to other aspects of the invasive business. First of all, your personal information is being tossed around like poker chips at a table full of drunks. Businesses large and small are buying, selling, renting, and trading your information without your permission, and they get their grubby hands on it in countless ways. Because of this, the business of junk mail exposes you to identity theft . What’s more, 100 million trees are cut down annually to produce junk mail - the majority of which ends up in landfills. Read my latest article on how to get rid of junk mail to keep your information safe, the planet less disgusting, and your sanity intact.

How to Clean Rust

It seems like every place I’ve ever lived in as an adult has had at least one nasty rust stain somewhere, usually a reddish column running from the overflow drain into the basin of the bathroom sink or tub. You may think this reveals something negative about the general level of cleanliness in my home, but actually I’m kind of neurotic about cleaning. In fact, I’ve spent a lot of time scrubbing at those rust stains, and several times I’ve even committed, in desperation, what I now know is the cardinal sin of rust removal: I tried using chlorine bleach. So it wasn’t a lack of fastidiousness that doomed me to years of rust-stained bathrooms; it was a lack of knowledge. Now I know. And what I know is that cleaning rust isn’t so hard after all. Since I’m not the kind of girl who keeps things to herself, I wrote an article about how to clean rust. So now you know.

Barking Mad

Barking Mad, a self-described mommy blogger, recently posted a write-up of How to Get Rid of Things, How to Clean Things and some of our smaller projects. This woman should be writing for the Washington Post. She’s good. Maybe I’m just biased because the article focuses a lot on me, Captain Important. Anyway, go check out her article and then make your way through the rest of her site. She’s becoming quite the accomplished photographer and an incredibly dedicated member of the blogosphere.

Thanks, Aud!

How to Clean Mildew

As I have written in my article, the term mildew is actually plant mold, but popular usage of the term now refers to mold growing in moisture-prone areas of the home like bathrooms and basements. In my place, it was the bathroom. The mildew was present in the shower the day we bought the house, but other projects always seemed more dire. As I tried to get clean in the mornings, I would always wonder how I was going to clean the mildew. One such morning, the rubber lining around my shower fell onto my shoulders like a dead boa constrictor. That was my Pearl Harbor; war was finally declared. I turned to the tried and true staples in my green cleaning arsenal, and now I wonder why I just didn’t clean the mildew sooner. Well, it has excited my gag reflex for the last time. Read my latest article on how to clean mildew without resorting to products containing depleted uranium, as well as how to prevent mildew and deal with other mildew-related issues.

How to Get Rid of Trojans

don't trust the horse

My introduction to trojan horses came last year as I tried to download a patch to one of my computer games. Instead of using the game’s website - which was obnoxiously slow - I haphazardly downloaded what appeared to be the patch from Limewire. I was impatient to play, and I paid for it. Instantly my screen was filled with pop-ups and a thousand different windows that couldn’t be closed. This trojan was designed to annoy and was relatively innocuous, considering that many are engineered to steal personal information or turn your computer into a disease-spreading zombie - not to mention give control of your machine to a basement-dwelling misanthrope. I’ve learned much about this type of malware since the Greeks fooled me. There is no “one way” to get rid of trojans, but rather many methods that work for specific infections.  Read my latest article to learn how to go about trojan removal, as well as what steps to take in preventing infection.
